The Church at Worship

Rev. Terry G. Cornett

CONTENT

The grace of God comes before all human decision or effort – only his grace can enable people to respond to him. It is because of this grace that the Church can worship God and all of the Church’s worship, especially the Lord’s Supper and baptism, is meant to be a testimony to, and an experience of, the grace of God. Our objective for this lesson, The Church at Worship, is to enable you to: • Give a definition of grace. • Distinguish between grace and mercy. • Identify and answer the Pelagian heresy. • Explain the difference between the term “sacrament” and the term “ordinance.” • Name and briefly explain the four major Christian views about the Lord’s Supper.
