Now is the time for you to discuss with your fellow students your questions about church growth and reproduction. To grapple with these concepts, we must seek the integrated nature of effective urban ministry. We evangelize with a mind to equip the new believers in the faith, and equip with a commitment to empower these same growing Christians to share their faith with others. As you reflect on these stages and ideas, what particular questions have come to mind? Explore your own questions, as you reflect on those below. • Why is the teaching regarding the lordship of Christ so extremely foundational for any valid perspective of ministry or outreach of the Gospel? What is your understanding and application of this important doctrine in your life today? Explain. • Have you sensed from the Lord a call to minister the Gospel? How and in what way? If you have sensed such a call, when did you first realize that he had called you to such a ministry? • How would you describe your ability to trust in the lordship of Christ during times of difficulty, persecution, and trouble? Are you a worrier, that is, do you fret over the various dimensions of your life and ministry? How might an application of the doctrine of Christ help you overcome your fears and anxieties in these areas? • What about the PLANT process seems most clear to you? What in the acrostic seems least clear? Have you ever considered the possibility that God might want you to be involved in planting new churches for him? Why or why not? • Discuss the truthfulness and biblical validity of the following statement: “The fastest, most productive, and most biblical method of world evangelization and discipleship is to plant churches cross-culturally.” Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not? • Of the three broad areas of urban ministry ( Evangelize , Equip , and Empower ), which do you feel most drawn to and gifted to do? Are you part of a fellowship that emphasizes these principles in a practical way in your worship, life, and fellowship together? • Do you feel comfortable in crossing barriers (class, race, gender, language, etc.) in sharing the good news of Christ and his Kingdom with others?
