C. What truth can we glean from this view?

1. Jesus’ death satisfies once and for all the righteous demands of God against us because of our sins’ offense to God, Rom. 5.9-11.

2. Jesus’ death is infinite in its value; his death is so effective he could die once for all and cover the sacrifice needed for us, Heb. 10.10-14.

3. Only the death of Jesus can possibly settle the sin question for us; no amount of ethical reform or godly sorrow will suffice, Gal. 3.11-13.

VI. Concluding Thoughts on Differing Views of the Atonement

A. All views contain elements of truth.

1. Jesus’ death did provide us with an example of what it means to live for God.

2. Jesus’ death did demonstrate the love of God for us.
