Conclusion
» Ethnocentrism and difference has caused unprecedented levels of violence, hate, and cruelty in our day. » As Christian peacemakers, representing the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, we can be aware of the malice and division that animates our time, and transcend it by actively praying for, demonstrating, and advocating for peace between people of difference, starting right in our own neighborhoods. » May God the Holy Spirit give us the grace and the heart to pursue the peace of Christ with all we meet, as we seek to do justice and love mercy in his name, in the city. The following questions were designed to help you review the material in the second video segment. In that section we learned how through faith in Christ we have been called to represent the Kingdom of God. As such, we have a view of culture and difference that is informed by the Word of God, especially interpreted in light of the person and work of Jesus Christ. In a world of mind-numbing diversity and cultural difference, we saw how cultural difference easily leads to bigotry and hatred, erecting the kinds of barriers that produce paternalism, suspicion, and malice. The toxic result of this is violence, ever escalating terror, and even war. As believers, we are called to embrace peacemaking, celebrate difference,
