then, Jesus was warning his followers that their allegiance to himmight cause conflict at home and even expulsion from the family circle. It was well that they should be forewarned, for then they could not say, “We never expected that we should have to pay this price for following him!”

Congratulations, you have completed your class session for this module. Now, your attention must shift to your role as grader in collecting the assignments of the students, and providing them final instructions regarding their work. Your primary role now is the clear communication of your expectations, and careful recording keeping of what has been turned in to you, by whom, and according to what deadline you have given them. Please make certain that you have commitments for the ministry projects, exegetical projects, and any other assignments that you have given to the students. Careful recording of what each student has given you is central to an accurate assessment of each of your student’s overall grades. Again, your discretion regarding late work can easily determine whether you dock students of points, resulting in letter grade changes, or give students an “Incomplete” until the work is finished. However you adopt your standard regarding their work, remember that our courses are not primarily about the grades that students receive, but the spiritual nourishment and training these courses provide. Also, however, remember that helping our students strive for excellence is an integral part of our instruction.
