F. Be willing to deal with symptoms as you seek to address the root causes of the needs. Matt. 7.17 - So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 2 Cor. 5.17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Cor. 7.1 - Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. 1 Tim. 1.5 - The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

1. Not every situation can be solved by us; we must recognize our place in the healing and blessing of others, 1 Cor. 3.5-9.
2. Be above reproach in all dealings with one another: neither coercion or pussy-footing, 2 Cor. 4.2.
3. Teach stewardship while giving bread: do not allow your ministries of mercy to be dichotomized into unnecessary “either/or” splits, Gal. 6.7-9.
a. Provide food and help people to find employment.
b. Pay utility bills and work with people to be responsible for their liabilities and debts.
c. Repair housing needs and train people to purchase their own homes.
