5. We are responsible to share the resources of the earth (the disparity between the haves and have-nots has direct impact on the use and/or abuse of the earth’s resources).

D. The Church’s responsibility in regards to the environment: acting locally

1. Your personal response ( as individuals, couples, and families )

a. Conservation: use responsible care in your personal consumption of precious resources: e.g., water.

b. Recycling: voluntarily recycle paper, glass, and metal goods.

c. Stay alert to local environmental issues, and increase the awareness of those in the body to such issues.

2. The local assembly corporate response ( as leaders and members of a believing congregation )

a. Organized efforts at conservation, recycling

b. Neighborhood clean-ups, awareness of chemical sites, protests regarding unsafe pollutants in the neighborhood
