The power of prayer is critical to our development as disciples of Christ and leaders of the Church. Learning to share requests with your fellow students and leaders will enhance every phase of your growth in Christ. Of course, no one can read your mind; you will need to be open and transparent about the ways in which you will be seeking the Lord’s grace to apply and relate these truths to your own walk and ministry. Moreover, your instructors are more than willing to provide you with counsel, advice, and insight into particular issues and circumstances that you may be facing. Be open to receive the counsel of your leaders as you address the various challenges you are facing today, and be sure to ask your fellow students to lift you up in prayer as seek to make the truths you mined in this lesson your very own treasure. Matt. 7.7-11 - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. [8] For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. [9] Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? [10] Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? [11] If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! With this encouragement in mind, ask the Lord to provide you with keen insight into the meaning of the truths here, as well as opportunity and energy to respond promptly and obediently to the Word of God for your own life. Share requests with your fellow students, and pray for one another. The prayer of the righteous is a powerful thing, indeed (James 5.16)! Remember the words of our Lord when he instructs on the power of prayer:
