3. Come, Holy Spirit . Affirm that through the coming of the Holy Spirit in the world, God has brought into being the Church, the world wide community of God's people whose existence proves and bears witness in word and deed to God's true Story of the world. The Church of Jesus Christ is both the locus and agent of the Kingdom, i.e., serving as the place where the presence of the Age to come is manifest, and as the agent authorized to proclaim deliver- ance in Jesus' name and reveal the Kingdom's freedom, wholeness, and justice in its life and mission in this age. (The Holy Spirit as Life Giver, Teacher, Helper, and Guide) 4. Your Word Is Truth . The Scriptures are the final, authoritative, and irrevocable record of God’s saving acts in creation, the incarnation, and the re-creation of all things. Rediscover and read the Scripture as God’s Story of the world, the narrative and script of the meaning of all things, which details God’s action in his creation of his universe, his purpose to redeem, his covenants to the patriarchs and Israel, and the Church, and his final and particular revelation of himself in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Scripture's center, subject, and theme, and is the key Actor and Player in God’s cosmic drama.
