a. Evangelion as “good message, good tidings” - “In the NT it denotes the salvation through Christ, to be received by faith on the basis of his expiatory death, his burial, resurrection, and ascension, cf. Acts 15.7; 20.24; 1 Pet. 4.17” ( Vines Expository Dictionary , p. 275).
