Evangelism Methods to Reach the Urban Community
Welcome, in the strong name of Jesus Christ! After your reading, study, discussion, and application of the materials in this lesson, you will be able to: • Share with others the kind of lifestyle and conduct we as leaders must adopt in order to touch our urban communities. • Show from Scripture how evangelism is not only what we say but who we are and what we do (i.e., evangelism must be rooted in solid character and genuine spirituality). • Recite what kind and quality of spirituality we need to have to be a credible witness to God’s grace in Christ (through our walk with God, our relationship with our families, and with outsiders). • Demonstrate with Scripture the importance of a lived faith, of being zealous to do good works, especially on behalf of those who are poor and most vulnerable. • See how we can prepare for effective evangelism through prevailing intercessory prayer. • State from the Bible the importance of the roles of personal soul-winning, public preaching, and discourse in evangelism. • Give an overview of the importance of the concept of the household network or oikos in urban evangelism.
