1. Discipling is in the Church: the goal of cross-cultural ministry is to win people who join themselves to healthy local assemblies where they can grow, mature, and multiply, Col. 1.25-27.

2. Discipling is through the Church: the church is the best place for cross-cultural ministry to begin and thrive, since it conserves the fruit of our evangelism organically, 1 Tim. 3.15-16.

3. Discipling is for the Church: the goal of all ministry is the building up of the body of Christ in love, Eph. 4.9-15, of which the local assembly is one small emblem.

C. Steps to remember in bringing groups together in the Assemble and Nurture phases of urban church planting

1. The moment a person responds to the Gospel, we must connect that Christian to the church, i.e., a local assembly of believers in Messiah Jesus, Matt. 18.20.

2. Evangelize and follow up in small groups before you assemble : (you can’t postpone caring for babies once they’re born!).
