II. Commission: a Person of Distinct Call

A. The leader of God’s church must acknowledge and embrace God’s call on their lives to lead in the household of God. 2 Tim. 1.13-14 - “Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. [14] By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.”

1. Leadership in the church is a gift conferred with the blessing of legitimate authority, 1 Tim. 4.14.
