length. Allow for the proper time to focus in on the main points, and still have enough time for a break before the next video segment is started. Again, it cannot be overemphasized how important it is in teaching others to stay close by the objectives you have for a particular teaching moment. Your teaching will be more interesting, remembered with greater ease, and be more useful to your students if you insist on relating the matter under consideration to the objectives of the segment and the lesson. Also notice at the end of these questions is an instrument, a tool that was developed by Charles Ridley to help denominations (many across North America) determine whether or not someone might succeed at church planting. These categories are included in interview materials where candidates are assessed as to their readiness to plant churches. Briefly discuss these standards with your students, and keep them in mind throughout the module. One of your tasks as mentor is to help students come to understand more clearly whether or not God has called them to actually plant churches in the city among the poor in a formal way as church planters themselves. These kinds of dialogues can keep such questions “front and center” in the minds of the students throughout your study of this module. This section highlights the fundamental truths written in sentence form which the students should have received from this lesson, that is, from the videos and your guided discussion with them. Your aim should be to help your students come to understand the critical principles in proverb form, in a simple, declarative statement that allows them to summarize the material and pass it along to others. The purpose of the study is to get to the “nuggets,” those key principles of truth that they can evaluate, apply, and share in their lives and ministries. It is never a waste of time to make certain that the students are understanding the underlying truths which run through the material. Often, our ability to help our students grapple with these concepts will determine whether or not they are able to use these truths later, in their personal edification, their teaching and preaching, and their discipling of others. So, make sure that these concepts are clearly defined and carefully considered, for their quiz work and exams will be taken from these items directly.
