The wisdom of the principles drawn from the apostles’ experience outlined in Acts provide us with critical insights for effective urban ministry. They include affirming that Jesus is Lord, the challenge to evangelize, equip, and empower unreached people to reach people, and the need to be inclusive, culturally neutral, and to cross racial, class, gender, and language barriers to make the Gospel of the Kingdom plain to those whom we seek to reach.

Specifically, what does it appear that the Holy Spirit is stirring within you as a result of your reflection, study, and discussion on the nature of the lordship of Christ, the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all the nations, and your own contribution to that? In what way do you feel called to contribute today to the call to make disciples of Jesus, in your family, in your church, in the neighborhood, or on the job? Do you sense a more formal calling to the Gospel ministry in your life, in other words, has or is God calling you to make the ministry your full time vocation? With whom might you share this desire and burden? What specifically have you done so far to articulate your burden to your pastor and spiritual leaders, to your husband or wife, to your friends and relatives? How might you personally give time, talent, or treasure to the mission of planting churches, both in your community, through your church, or even overseas? Is God calling you to consider
