D. Mission is engagement in the War of the Spheres .

1. Mission is nothing less than the announcement of the coming of God’s rule to earth in the midst of the devil’s own territory, 1 John 4.4.

2. Mission proclaims Messiah Jesus as the fulfillment of Messianic prophecy in our day and time, who must reign until all his enemies are under his feet, 1 Cor. 15.24-28.

3. The Church has been granted authority to use the weapons of God’s warfare in their proclamation of the Good News of the Kingdom throughout the world.

E. The weapons of our warfare

2 Cor. 10.3-5 - For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. [4] For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments [5] and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
