A. In all our mission praying, giving, and sending, we must focus upon the cities.

1. Because of their strategic importance

2. Because of their missionary significance

3. Because of their spiritual centrality

B. Be proud and thankful for our responsibility to represent the Lord in the city.

C. Be strategic and cunning in how we might affect numerous regions through first generation contacts in members of a globalized network of contacts ( oikos, oikia ).

D. Pray for the city, and seek its health, for in its safety is our safety, Jer. 29.4-7.

Conclusion

» Three convincing reasons exist for the Church’s involvement in urban mission. » Cities are the world’s seats of influence, power, and spiritual activity, are the magnets for the oppressed, the broken, and the poor, and are the primary picture and symbol of our spiritual destiny and inheritance.
