4. Signs of the end of time and demonstration of the Kingdom present: Jesus’ signs are indisputable evidence that he is the Messiah of the Hebrew Scriptures!

5. Ministry to the poor is undeniable proof of the Messiah’s identity.

1. Zacchaeus as a betrayer of the covenant community: loyalist to the Roman empire and extorter of God’s people ( i.e., a rich tax collector )

2. His interaction with Jesus Christ and open display of a heart change

a. Half of my goods I give to the poor (token of authentic heart change).

b. If I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold (radical generosity and restitution).
