4. In his person, the righteous shalom of the Kingdom of God was displayed in every way.

a. Acts 10.36-38

b. Luke 7.21-23

5. Jesus founded a new covenant community which he intends to be the living display of the love and justice of the Kingdom in this day and hour: the Church of Jesus Christ , 1 Cor. 12.27.

6. The life of the Age to Come is now experienced and displayed in the good works and proclamation of the Good News by the Church: Mission is integrally connected to displaying justice on behalf of the poor in and through the Church !

a. The Holy Spirit in the Church is the literal down payment of the full inheritance to come , Eph. 1.13; 4.30; 2 Cor. 1.20-22.

b. The gathering of Jews and Gentiles into one community through faith is a token of the shalom to come over all the world at the consummation of the Kingdom of God, Eph. 3.3-10; Rom. 16.24ff.; Col. 1.26-27.

c. The acts of righteousness done in and through the Church are signs of the Kingdom’s presence right here-and-now, Acts 2 with Joel 2.

7. The Church is now the new Israel of God, called to demonstrate through its preaching and good works the standard of God’s kingdom reign, Gal. 6.16.
