1. A vulnerable, unsafe environment : the primacy of the shepherding role of pastoral care

2. Vicious predators : those who would prey upon urban Christians

3. Proneness to wander : the inclination of sheep toward distraction and departure from the flock

4. Dry, parched ground for grazing : the increased amount of spiritual materials and doctrines in urban areas
