4. The bishop has oversight authority not merely influence: they direct ministers and churches to act, and exercise decision making authority in all the affairs of the church, coordinating the efforts of personnel for the sake of edifying the churches and expanding the kingdom outreach.

B. The bishop as apostle

The bishop functions like an apostle, as one who is burdened with an ongoing anxiety and care for the well-being of new churches and their leaders, and does all s/he can to ensure the protection, edification, and development of the churches and their emerging leaders.
