Please note: Your module grade cannot be determined if you do not take the final exam and turn in all outstanding assignments to your mentor (ministry project, exegetical project, and final exam).

The need of the hour is for a particular kind of effective Christian leader to emerge in the Church. Throughout this module we have explored the NT vision of leadership, based on the model of Christ and the apostles, that can produce maturity in the Church, and advancement of the Kingdom in the world. Your involvement in this course speaks of your potential as a servant leader, whatever the role and ministry God has designed for you. Whether as a layperson or clergy, whether as a deacon, elder, pastor, or bishop, whether in missions or full-time Christian service, God wants you to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Pet. 3.18). Our Lord made himself available to the Father in order to fulfill to the nth degree his command to lay down his life for the world. Now, our Lord is calling men and women to lay down their lives for the sake of his body, the Church. Our sincere desire is that the Holy Spirit will so inspire and illumine you that you will join that remarkable army of people who have sacrificed all of their lives for Christ. The promise is certain and sure; those who serve our Lord Jesus, the Father himself will honor them. Let Christ’s own words bear witness to the truth of this statement: John 12.23-26 - And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. [24] Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. [25] Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. [26] If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.” May the Lord give you both the courage and integrity to yield your all to Christ, in order that he might be glorified through your service to him, revealed in your selfless sacrifice for his dear bride, the body of Christ. Indeed, this kind of service for our risen Lord is the foundation of authentic Christian leadership.
