God as Father: The Goodness of God

Segment 1: Moral Qualities of Goodness

God expresses his goodness through his moral attributes of perfect moral purity, absolute integrity, and unbounded love. He demonstrates his perfect moral purity through his holiness, righteousness, and justice. He expresses his absolute integrity through his attributes of genuineness, veracity, and faithfulness. Finally, God expresses his unbounded love through his attributes of his benevolence, grace, mercy, and persistence. Our objective for this segment, Moral Qualities of Goodness, is to enable you to see that: • God’s marvelous goodness is expressed through the moral attributes of his perfect moral purity, absolute integrity, and unbounded love. • God’s perfect moral purity is manifested through his holiness, righteousness, and justice. • God the Father Almighty also expresses his goodness by those qualities associated with God’s integrity, i.e., his genuineness, veracity, and faithfulness. • The love of God, as an expression of his divine goodness, is associated with his attributes of benevolence, grace, mercy, and persistence. • Understanding the goodness of God boosts our confidence and conviction to trust and serve our infinitely lovely God.

Theologians refer to the moral purity of God as his absolute holiness, perfect beauty demonstrated in his complete separation and freedom from anything malicious, sinful, chaotic, or evil. This perfect moral perfection is revealed in his holiness, righteousness, and justice.
