C. Error three: Fatalism and chance are at the heart of the created order or human history.

1. God the Father Almighty is in charge of the universe.

2. God’s higher purpose runs alongside and within every happening both in nature and human affairs.

3. God’s divine concern touches all of life in this present age, and will ensure a new heavens and earth at the return of Jesus Christ.

4. Truly all things work together for good for those who are called according to the high purpose of God.

D. Error four: What there is now is all there has been or will be (this is determinism ).

1. Creation and history are moving toward God’s great consummation: God will create a new heavens and earth.

a. God will create the heavens and earth anew, Isa. 65.17.

b. John beheld this in his apocalyptic vision of the end, Rev. 21.1.

2. Living for this current world system is futile and shortsighted. We look for our real home, the New Jerusalem of God.
