Now, take some time to discuss with your colleagues some clarifying questions regarding the ideas and concepts that the video brought out. In some sense, a full and rich understanding of what the Scriptures teach about the goodness of God the Father Almighty is absolutely necessary for the person who would give a clear and persuasive account of the Lord to others. The goodness of the Lord serves as the basis of our salvation, our repentance, even our very relationship with God through Jesus Christ, whose grace led us to God. Make sure, therefore, that you understand the goodness of God and those attributes which surround it. Be clear and concise in your answers, and where possible, support with Scripture! 1. What is the relationship between God’s marvelous goodness and his moral nature? What does it mean that “God expresses his moral perfection through the moral attributes of his perfect moral purity, absolute integrity, and unbounded love?” 2. What is the definition of God’s holiness? What is the relationship of God’s righteousness to his holiness? In what ways does God demonstrate his perfect moral purity through his justice in the universe? 3. As an expression of his integrity, what does it mean to say that God the Father Almighty is genuine? What meanings are attached to the idea that God is veracious? What elements are included in the assertion that the Father is faithful? 4. God’s love includes his benevolence; what exactly is it? Explain the meaning of God’s graciousness. How does God’s grace relate to his mercy? In what sense does God’s longsuffering persistence display his goodness to us and to his creation? 5. In seeking to understand the attributes of God’s goodness , is there a way to see them together, as a whole, to “put them all together” as we ponder them? Explain your answer. 6. How might a full biblical understanding of God’s goodness greatly impact our personal lives and ministries? In your opinion, what would you consider to be the best way to communicate the goodness of God to others? Explain your answer.
