The means by which a person is united to Christ and his Church (1 Cor. 12.7, 13; Eph. 4.4-5; Gal. 3.2).

b. When is the “fullness of the Holy Spirit” received?

At conversion when a person repents and believes in Jesus as Savior and Lord (Acts 2.38-39, Rom. 8.9).

c. How is the “fullness of the Spirit” received?

By saving faith in Jesus Christ (John 7.37-39)

d. What is the evidence or confirmation that the “fullness of the Spirit” was received?

Perseverance in the faith (John 15.4; Phil. 3.12-14)

e. What does the “fullness of the Holy Spirit” accomplish?

It makes us more and more like Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 3.18; John 15.4, Rom. 12.1-2).

C. Multiple-stage views of Spirit baptism

1. Multiple-stage views believe that the Spirit is given at salvation but that a greater fullness of the Spirit is received at a later point in time which enables a person to more completely experience the work of the Spirit in their life and ministry.
