2. The uncertainty and shock of the apostles as to which one of them it would be, 13.22
3. Simon’s motioning to John (who was close by Jesus’ position at table) to ask him who the betrayer would be, 13.23-24
a. John again refers to himself as “ one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, ” 13.23.
b. The disciples acted like family and brothers : using the favored one to get info from the parents!, 13.24.
4. John’s question, and Jesus’ answer: It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread when I have dipped it , 13.26a.
5. Jesus’ identification of his betrayer: He dipped the morsel, gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot , 13.26b.
6. The devil enters immediately into Judas, and Jesus’ injunction: What you are going to do, do quickly , 13.27.
a. Jesus addresses the devil who possessed Judas ?, 13.27.
b. Judas’s immediate exit from the upper room (it was night), 13. 30.
7. The disciples’ inability to catch the sign (supposing Judas was running an errand ), 13.29
