The Gospe l of John

a. Matt. 27.33 – And when they came to a place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull)

b. Mark 15.22 – And they brought him to the place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull).

c. Luke 23.33 – And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.

2. Jesus crucified between two others, 19.18 (“robbers” and “criminals”)

a. Matt. 27.38 – Then two robbers were crucified with him, one on the right and one on the left.

b. Matt. 27.44 – And the robbers who were crucified with him also reviled him in the same way.

c. Mark 15.27 – And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left.

d. Luke 23.32-33 – Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. [33] And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.

3. The ironic inscription of Pilate: Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews, 19.19-22

a. Many people read the inscription because of the close proximity of the crucifixion to the city, 19.20.
