4. Peter and John’s lack of understanding about the Scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead , 20.9.

a. A recurring problem with the disciples, Luke 18.33-34 – “And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise.” [34] But they understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.

b. Luke 24.26 – Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?

c. Luke 24.44-46 – Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” [45] Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, [46] and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead.”
