Lord Jesus, we are humbled when we hear your tender words to the Father for the sake of your apostles and those who would believe in you through their words. We are overwhelmed by your grace and love, your sympathy and kindness, and ask that you would ever assure us of your ongoing high priestly ministry for us. Without your prayers and intercession, without your provision and help, we cannot make it in this life. We will ever trust in you. In your name we pray, amen. Affirmation for the Day Sunday: Jesus of Nazareth is our high priest, the mediator who intercedes for us before our God and his Father. Monday: Eternal life is knowing Jesus Christ, and the Father, who sent him into the world. Tuesday: The words and truths that the Father gave to Jesus, he gave to the apostles to give to the world. Wednesday: Jesus affirmed that just as the world hated him, so his own apostles would be hated in the world. Thursday: In the same way that Jesus was not of the world, so his people are not of this world. Friday: We are to be one even as Jesus and the Father are one, and through it, the world will know that God sent him. Saturday: Jesus affirmed that even though the world did not know the Father, he knew him, and the apostles knew that the Father sent Jesus into the world.
