Affirmation for the Day Sunday: Jesus of Nazareth is the Bright and Morning Star, sent to us by the Father to end darkness and the shadow of death. Monday: The prophets proclaimed that a Star would come out of Jacob to shine brightly for the nations. Tuesday: Jesus is the Messiah destined to reign as Lord and King over Israel and over the entire world. Wednesday: As the Magi followed the rising star to the very home of the young Messiah, so we too should follow the light of God’s word to discover the person and work of Jesus Christ. Thursday: The prophecy of the Scepter that would come out of Israel speaks to the future King who would defeat Israel’s enemies and establish justice in the earth. Friday: We have hope today because the Father sent his Son into the world to shine his light of glory and redemption over the nations. Saturday: As the Magi offered their highest and best to the young Messiah, let us offer our very lives to him who has shined his light upon us.
