desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. [11] Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

2. Only those who seek it as treasure will in fact discover its riches, Prov. 2.1-5 – My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, [2] making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; [3] yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, [4] if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, [5] then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

3. We are to desire the Word of God more than the finest treasures this earth has to offer, for it alone provides the key to eternal life in Christ.

a. Ps. 119.72 – The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

b. Ps. 119.127 – Therefore I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold.

c. Prov. 3.13-15 – Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, [14] for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. [15] She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
