5. Without finding answers to these probing questions through stories and their explanations, human beings cannot live purposefully and truly.

6. The Bible provides the truest perspective and account of God’s working in the world and his purpose for all things.

a. The Scriptures are inspired by God, 2 Tim. 3.15-17 – and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. [16] All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, [17] that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. b. No Scripture is merely of human invention or private interpretation, 2 Pet. 1.20-21– Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from some one’s own interpretation. [21] For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. c. God himself spoke through the mouths of the prophets concerning his will and purpose for the world, Acts 3.18 – But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled.

B. How do the stories of Scripture inform us of our ultimate purpose?

1. The Bible provides us with an understanding of his purpose for all things, Prov. 16.4; Rom. 11.36.
