Appendix 21 Proctoring
A TUMI Proctor is responsible for proctoring TUMI mentors who also want credit for the classes they are mentoring. Certified proctors have mentored several modules themselves and have completed the TUMI proctor-approval process. The mentor is assigned a certified TUMI Proctor. The mentor scans and e-mails all reading assignments, memorizations, quizzes, the final, the ministry project, and the exegetical project to the Proctor. Attendance and class participation points are based the mentor’s having taught the class, and will be awarded when the mentor completes all assignments on time. The Proctor will grade all assignments via e-mail. At the completion of each module, the Proctor will send the mentor/student a copy of his/her transcript. Once the mentor finishes all sixteen modules of the Capstone Curriculum, the Proctor will submit an official transcript to TUMI National, and the mentor will receive his TUMI Certificate. Mentors may then participate in any local TUMI graduation ceremony. Mentors are expected to complete and submit their assignments at the same pace they require of their students. Also, the same Capstone assignment weights apply to the mentors. Keeping the Capstone standards identical for mentors and students is crucial. Mentors are proctored in order to maintain the same excellent standard they require of their students. Proctors will make themselves available by e-mail, phone, or other social media avenues to provide a reasonable amount of guidance and assistance to mentors as they successfully complete this process.
