subjects. Learning to properly evaluate student performance and grading is a critical part of serving as a Mentor. We are training many who have little or no background in traditional academic settings, and must be careful to edify our students in our training. We must challenge them to do their best, and to prepare themselves for the a particular task God has assigned them in their church or ministry. In everything, each faculty member and mentor must remind them of this call, work and the role God has for them to fulfill in the advancement of the Kingdom. A TUMI Mentor must first and foremost be a person of Christian character, one whose testimony is blameless in their own family, church, and community, and one who is available to the Holy Spirit to be used to facilitate training and growth in others. Two traits which are essential in this process are a passion for excel- lence and a deep abiding respect for what the Holy Spirit can accomplish through those whom he has both called and gifted. I. TUMI Mentor Character and Job Profile And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. ~ Colossians 3.17 1. Maintain a compelling testimony as a mature disciple of Christ, honoring and glorifying God in your personal walk, your marriage and family, your work and employ- ment, and in your neighborhood and community. Who we are is more important than and will determine what we do. We can never underestimate the power of a life lived well under God, and the impact this life can have before others. You are mentoring and facilitating for quality servant leadership, and you must let your light so shine before your students that who you are becomes a living epistle, known and read by them as a true model of Christian discipleship (1 Cor. 11.1; Matt. 5.14-16; 1 Pet. 3.15; 1 Tim. 4.7-16). 2.
