Mere Missions

The kingdom culture is supra-cultural. It supersedes all cultures because it is supernatural in origin (John 18.36) and destiny (Luke 1.30-33). The purpose of the Kingdom of God is to rule and reign over all things visible and invisible (1 Cor. 15.24) and that includes the souls of each person from past, present and into the future. Everyone will bow to the reign of the rightful King and His Kingdom either willingly and joyfully in this world or in sorrow and regret in the life afterwards (Phil. 2.10-11; Rom. 14.11). Therefore, God desires that every soul would recognize His redemptive reign and rule in the Son in whom He loves by confessing Jesus as Lord and believing He is alive (Rom. 10.9). We are His ambassadors in this ministry of reconciliation to the spiritually lost and blind. Every soul matters. This is the focus of missions. The action of the Kingdom is to keep moving forward to multiply. The Church must not leave any stone unturned. We must, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled” (Luke 14.23). God wants a full house with no quarantines or social distancing. The pandemic of the Kingdom of Darkness is no more. We have the Gospel and therefore we need to advance and expand the Kingdom of God in places where there is no Community of the Kingdom. We must not be like the servant in Luke 19 who buried what was given to him rather than do all he can to multiply his talent. He was condemned for his cowardice. There is no room for cowards in the Kingdom of God. Why? Our five missions planks answer this question: Jesus is Lord over all things and there is nothing to fear. We have been entrusted with the power of the Gospel . The Holy Spirit has been given to us to comfort and lead us. We, the Church are His Bride. What groom will not protect and provide for his beloved. And the righteousness, peace and joy of the Kingdom is within the Church. What is there to be cowardly about when standing upon these apostolic missions planks?
