1.
It cleanses us from all sin, 1 John 1.7
2. By it, we are forgiven (we can forgive ourselves and others), Matt. 26.28; 1 John 1.9
1 John 1.7 – But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Matthew 26.28 – For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
3. We are washed from our sins, and made right with God, Rev. 1.5-6
4. We are rescued from legalism and self-righteousness, to serve God from the heart, Heb. 9.13-14
Hebrews 9.13-14 (ESV) – 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
The Blood applied ensured deliverance and release.
5. It clears our conscience regarding our past acts, Heb. 9.14; 1 Tim. 1.5
1 Timothy 1.5 – The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
6. We are reconciled, and so we can now deal with broken relationships with others, Eph. 4.31-32
