The Mentor’s Profile

Job Summary

Mentors are responsible for implementing courses by: encouraging and recording student attendance, assisting the students in understanding and working together on the curriculum, overseeing content presentations to the Learning Group, helping students select appropriate ministry projects, tutoring students, and reporting student needs and progress to the Site Coordinator.

A mentor is an Institute instructor who facilitates and/or assists the learning experience of the students in their taking of courses, classes, seminars, and conferences that fulfill the goals of your Institute.

Job Responsibilities

1. Schedule, plan, and lead student Learning Groups 2. W ork with students to encourage faithful attendance, class participation, and completion of work 3. E valuate any materials, projects, or tests that are assigned, and average final grades and report them to the Site Coordinator 4. B e available to provide counsel and prayer for students as they engage in ministry 5. C ommunicate with the Site Coordinator about student needs, administrative questions, and course feedback Vision Mentors should possess a commitment to the ministry of the Church in the city and to the discipling of leaders who can advance God’s Kingdom in the urban context. Character Mentors must display a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ. They must exhibit Christ-like character and follow World Impact’s “Affirmation of Faith Statement.” Qualifications
