So, You Are Ready to Launch Your Institute - How Do You Begin?

1. Continue to seek God’s specific direction through faithful prayer. Recruit men and women to pray for you as you explore the possibility of starting your own Institute. Trust God to supply all the necessary contacts, resources and materials you will need in order to establish a center for urban theological training. Make certain that you have counted the cost to create it. (See pages 47-48, and Appendices 6 and 7.) 2. Share your vision with others to get counsel, advice, and support. Start looking for like-minded partners who could serve as a steering committee to launch your Institute. Talk to your pastor and advisors, and share with your congregation your intent to start a leadership training center in your community. 3. Prayerfully begin looking for the right location to house your Institute. If you already have a building, make sure it has adequate classroom facilities for 10-20 students and that it will be available when you are ready to start courses. If you need to lease a building, start doing the spadework to find out what has to be done in order to reserve the space within the time schedule that you hope to begin your Institute. 4. Complete our steps and forms to establish your satellite (please see Appendices 21, 21.1, 21.2). Complete the application form (Appendix 21.1) and mail it to us at the listed address. Give the reference forms (Appendix 21.2) to three individuals, one of whom is an ordained minister, who know your character and your experience in ministry. Please stress to these people that they must complete the form as thoroughly as possible. Have your references mail their completed forms directly to our address. 5. Finalize your satellite. When we receive your application and reference forms, we will e-mail you a short open-book pre-interview quiz for your completion. Upon receipt of your completed quiz, we will contact you for a
