b. John 16.33 – I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

c. 1 Thess. 3.3-4 – . . . that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. [4] For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, just as it has come to pass, and just as you know. d. Gal. 6.7-9 – Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. [8] For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. [9] And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

2. Don’t try to win the entire war in a single fight in one day; stand your ground right here, right now, today.

a. Matt. 6.34 (MSG) – “Give your entire

attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. b. James 4.13-14 – Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit” – [14] yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
