Conclusion: The Necessity of Church-based Internships Of all the tools provided to the church to raise up new leaders, nothing compares to healthy, well-supervised church internships. Whatever the scope, however the form, a practical, life-based, and church-connected internship can help emerging Christian leaders discover their calling and gifting in ministry, and offer invaluable help to the congregation to grow. We must do all we can to help identify, equip, and release former prisoners who have named the name of Christ to discover their unique call to ministry, in order that they may play their part in advancing the Kingdom, under the Spirit’s direction and the church’s oversight.
