Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost August 28 - September 3, 2022 • Proper 17

WEEK 40

As Lord of the harvest, Jesus has commissioned his Church during this age to go and make disciples of all nations. During this season after Pentecost, let us obey Christ’s command and share the Gospel to the ends of the earth, gathering in the harvest of souls so ripe for reaping. As Christ’s hands and feet in the world, let us both show and tell of his salvation to a dying and hurting world. This is a season of harvest. THIS WEEK’S THEME His Life in Us: A New Creation Live in Fellowship, Acts 2.42-47 After the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, a community of three thousand believers began to live as the first Christian Church. The Spirit-filled Church displays the shalom (peace, wholeness) of God’s Kingdom. The community of believers experiences the power of answered prayer, regeneration and new life, the wholeness of God in righteousness and peace, and the powers of the age to come, all in a community of love. Truly, eternal life is ours, and we live as citizens of heaven.
