and our Pattern; make us like you were as you stood for us in your suffering and passion. For Your sake we pray, amen.

Affirmation for the Day Sunday: We rejoice in so far as we share in the sufferings of Christ. Monday: Jesus’s own life serves as the pattern for all Christians. Tuesday: Following Jesus will inevitably involve imitating him in both sacrifice and suffering. Wednesday: We ought not be surprised at suffering and adversity. Thursday: Suffering for the cause of Christ is one of the great privileges given to those who represent him in this world. Friday: None of us should suffer as one who has done wrong, i.e., as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Saturday: If we suffer as a Christian, we ought not be ashamed, but glorify God in that name.
