1. Do I sense the Lord’s peace and constraint to do this, i.e., do I have a personal burden and passion that I must follow through on this?

2. Is this my heart burden and commitment, or am I merely following what others think I ought to do?

3. What is the Lord saying to me about the specific role I am to play in regard to church planting now?

B. Am I willing to pay the price in order to see churches planted in the city?

Eccles. 5.1-7 (ESV) – Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few. For a dream comes with much business, and a fool’s voice with many words. When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no plea sure in fools. Pay what you vow. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay. Let not your mouth lead you into sin, and do not say before the messenger that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice and destroy the work of your hands?

1. Is my spouse in agreement about God’s call for us to do this?

2. Is the timing right for me to engage in this right now?

3. What thing(s) continue to concern me about my readiness and fitness to give myself to church planting?

4. What is the Lord saying I must receive in order to fulfill this calling I have discerned from him?

C. What is the Lord saying my next step should be in regards to church planting?

Exod. 14.15 (ESV) – The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.

1. Do I sense a “green light” or an “open door” from the Lord to pursue church planting in the place where I am now?
