In lesson one, we considered together the importance of the concept of leadership as representation. As representatives of Jesus, his Church, and the Christian faith, we are called by God to lead God’s people to honor him in worship, in the Word of God, and in the celebration of the sacraments. In our next lesson we will look at the idea of welcoming and integrating new believers into the Church, together with the meaning of spiritual parenthood, and explore what is involved in bringing new-born Christians to full maturity in Christ.
