Conclusion

» The practicing Christian leader is one who equips the people of God by parenting spiritual sons and daughters toward maturity in the family of God. » We derive much of our understanding of spiritual parenthood from the Apostle Paul, who equipped through his personal correspondence, prayer, example, instruction, and representatives. » We can employ the same model Paul used to raise up a new generation of churches and leaders who can go on to impact their generation for Jesus Christ. The following questions were designed to help you review the material in the second video segment. The power of spiritual parenting is waiting to be felt in our urban church experience. We need to discover new practical and creative ways to disciple new and growing believers in the city. Ponder the questions well, and seek to be concise in your answers, and as always, support your analysis with Scripture! 1. In what sense has the Lord gifted select individuals with the responsibility to equip the body of Christ for the work of the ministry? How do we go about discerning who these individuals are in our local church experience? 2. What might some of the traits be that would be important in a good spiritual parent? What kind of person should not be placed in a role to spiritually parent new and/or immature believers?
