infused by true worship. Therefore, we claim that people should be united in mutual affection so that they may be placed together under the government of God. The mention of the priest implies that unity arises from true and pure worship of God. There the LORD bestows his blessing (v. 3). David adds in closing that God commands his blessing where peace is cultivated. In other words, God shows his pleasure regarding our unity by showering down blessings. Let us then seek to walk in brotherly love, that we may secure the divine blessing. Let us even stretch out our arms to those who differ from us, desiring to welcome them if they will return to the unity of the faith. Do they refuse? Then let them go. We recognize no brotherhood apart from the children of God.
