A. The outer layer of our self-awareness is the Exploitative Mindset of Poverty Work. 1. Leads to the savior syndrome mentality 2. I am here to rescue you and your neighborhood. 3. It’s all about me. 4. It’s not intentional, but it happens because we’re not conscious of ourselves and how we’re moving in a particular person’s life or in a particular community. 5. You’re trying to get something out of someone or out of a community. 6. The question becomes, “Do we ever mature and realize that I am not here for me, that I am here to represent God? The people in this community don’t need me, they need the Jesus in me. They need to know the Good News.”
