What is toxic about this situation: • Front door environment • Those serving (training needed) • Esthetics • Holding people hostage • Disorganized – the way it is set up creates a lot of problems, instead of bringing solutions or making people feel comfortable when receiving the food. • Shows that the people coming for help are not being valued. 3. It’s important that the people who are being served have ownership. They should believe that what you are doing/providing really benefits them. 4. We should provide assistance with the thought of sustainability. Offer assistance at the request of and alongside the people who are going to be in a community long term, strengthening the program and the calling that God has put on their lives and hearts. That’s what will bring lasting change.
