As You Form Your Plan, Keep Your Overall Purpose in Mind: To Cross-Culturally Plant an Indigenously Led Reproducing Church among Residents of a Low-Income Community World Impact Marks of an Indigenously Led Reproducing Church An indigenous identity • the culture of the community people stamped on it, not the culture of the missionaries/church planters Financial independence • does not need outside financial support Indigenous ownership of the vision • for doing ministry in their community and for reproduction – planting more churches Indigenous leadership • community people who have been equipped and empowered to lead Reproducible methods and structure • keep it simple but not superficial How to Keep the Purpose in Focus Keep in mind the Ten Key Principles for Cross-Cultural Church Planting: 1. Jesus is Lord. 2. Evangelize, equip, and empower unreached people to reach people for Christ.

3. Be inclusive: Whosoever will may come. 4. Be culturally neutral: Come just as you are. 5. Avoid dependence. 6. Think reproducibility. 7. Avoid a fortress mentality. 8. Maintain evangelism to avoid stagnation. 9. Cross the barriers of race, class, gender, and language. 10. Respect the dominance of the receiving culture.
